Dasher the Christmas Bunny: A Children’s Christmas Story

 Merry Christmas Everybody!!

My Christmas card/gift to you this year is sharing my children’s story about Dasher with everyone!

I took a sabbatical in 2019 to focus on writing children’s stories, starting my blog, and submitting my stories to agents and publishers. Unfortunately, 2019 did not end with a book contract, agent, or large blog audience. But that doesn’t mean I’ve given up. It still felt good giving it my all and trying. In the end, I have some fun stories to share with family and friends, and a blog that has become a wonderful creative outlet. And I’m still dreaming of becoming a published author with my stories!!  Thankfully, I still have hope that someone will love my little stories and see their potential. In the meantime, I would love to share my Christmas story with you!

And so would Dasher!!

Hi Everyone!

Dasher the Christmas Bunny

My name is Dasher! I’m a bunny!

Do you know what my favorite holiday is?

Everyone always thinks it’s Easter, just because I’m a bunny

But nope! My favorite holiday is Christmas!

I love Christmas!

Why do I love Christmas?

Boy, there are so many reasons!!

Look at that handsome profile!

First, my name! I’m named after one of Santa’s reindeer.  How cool is that?

I bet Dasher the Reindeer loves to dash and run really fast, just like me!

And Dasher the Reindeer can also fly! If I had a bunny superpower I would fly!

The nice lady I live with lets me hop on the couches and run around.

Sometimes, I hop off the couch as high as I can, stretch my legs out, and pretend I’m dashing through the sky like a reindeer!  Boy, is it fun!

Just landed from a triple axle ninja bunny jump!

The second reason I love Christmas is Christmas trees!

At my house, we have a huge fresh tree.

It’s covered in lights and ornaments.

I like to chew on lights…mmmm!

My favorite thing to do is sit under the tree.  Sometimes, I take naps there.

I also like to munch on the pine needles and branches that fall on the floor. Boy are those yummy!

My third reason is Christmas morning!  After all, who doesn’t love Christmas morning?

Presents under the tree from Santa Claus, stockings filled with surprises….

But for me, Christmas morning means new chew toys!

My favorite toy I ever got was my chew tunnel

It’s made out of twigs so I can chew on it, sit in it, take naps, or just hang out.

Also, the nice people I live with have a lot of family, and they all come over on Christmas day.

And for me, that means extra attention. I like extra attention!

Everyone wants to pet me and give me tons of extra vegetables and apples. Boy, is that nice!

I like to watch Christmas movies with Mom

Lastly, and most importantly, I love Christmas because Christmas is when I met my family.

It was just three days before Christmas when I was sitting all alone in a cage in a pet store waiting for someone to adopt me.

I was so sad and lonely.

I was starting to give up hope.

But this nice lady and her husband walked into the store and saw me.

Before I knew it, they were holding me, petting me and that sweet lady was giving me kisses.

This is the first time Mommy held me!

And faster than you can sing, “dashing through the snow” they adopted me and brought me home to live with them.

The first day I was home they let me run around the house.

They watched me dashing around the Christmas tree and decided that my name should be DasherDasher the Christmas Bunny. Boy, do I love them!

Last but not least, my favorite thing to do at Christmas time is snuggling on the couch with my new mom and dad.

And while the snow falls outside, my sweet mom rubs my head and sings me Christmas songs.

Boy is that special!

And boy, do I love being Dasher the Christmas Bunny!

The End

Merry Christmas!

Love, Kacie, Brandon, Grizzabella, and Dasher!
