How To Let Mom Know You Don’t Want Her To Leave…Like a Glamour Cat

It’s been a busy, fun week! My mom came up to visit and after she left some dear friends came into town and we were able to spend time with them. Our visitors brought good weather, as well as good conversation and lots of laughs!

Now, I have to pack up my weekend bag and head south to the Rogue Valley. I have three singing gigs lined up this weekend. Two are at wineries, and one will be at an Italian restaurant in Ashland called Martino’s. I used to perform there regularly on Monday nights, but after we moved, it was the gig I had to give up. However, this weekend it just so worked out with schedules that I decided I could do a show there.

“Returning for One Night Only at Martino’s: The One and Only Kacie Bowers!”

The dramatic side of me likes to imagine that as my headline. Really, it will just be a quiet, lovely evening of jazz tunes, filled with sweet Monday night regulars eating pasta and drinking wine. Which is why I love it there!

However, as I’m getting ready for my trip my heart feels a little heavy. I will miss my little babies, Dasher and Grizzabella. I hate leaving them. Thankfully, Daddy will be home and he will take good care of them, but my heart is hurting. As I pack my bags Grizzabella gives me a look that tells me she knows what that bag is for– and she’s not happy about it!

I love to sing, and I need to sing, but I love my little boos, and I hate leaving them. And my husband–I love you, and I will miss you too!

I asked Grizzabella to weigh in and give some glamour cat tips once again. This time she is sharing tips on how to let your mom know you don’t want her to leave…like a glamour cat!

Take it away Grizzy!

First things first: You’ve got to start the guilt trip first thing in the morning before she even wakes up. Adoringly lay your paw on her hand or cheek. This way, she wakes up and feels awful (which she should) knowing she has to leave you in a few hours.

Then, slide over onto her chest, and snuggle your head upon her neck so she can’t breathe. This will make her feel sorry for you and keep her in bed a little longer and late for her trip.

Block her from getting in the shower. If she can’t get ready, she can’t leave!

If she happens to succeed and make her way past you into the shower, then sit on her lap and mean-mug her so she can’t enjoy her morning coffee.

The cold shoulder works too!

After her morning coffee, fall asleep on her monthly planner so she can’t take it with her and schedule any more out-of-town trips.

If all your efforts have failed and she still leaves, sit on her book while she is away. You will smell her and feel comforted.

And try to remember that absence makes the heart grow fonder, and reunions will be extra special! (That means lots of rubs and loves!)

Love,

Grizzabella the Glamour Cat

P.S.

I’m going to miss you too Mommy!

Thank you Grizzabella and Dasher! I love you guys!
