How We Pets Survived the COVID-19 Lockdown: By Dasher and Grizzabella

Hello, Everybody!!

We ( Grizzabella and Dasher ) hope you are safe and healthy and happy!

Boy, we sure are! We’ve been doing great in fact! We love lockdown, shut down, quarantine…whatever folks are calling it these days.

Why do we love it so much?

Well, as pets, we don’t like to be alone very often. And during the lockdown, Mom and Dad were home all day and all night! That’s pretty heavenly for us furry members of society. In fact, we can’t figure out why Mom and Dad are not very happy with lockdown orders. We think they’re nuts! Mom says that although she loves being with us, she also wants to work and sing and travel.

We think that’s just all overrated and in fact, now that counties are in phase 1 and 2 Mom’s getting a few gigs here and there again…..and we’re not happy about it!

Mom just reminded us that her singing income pays for our treats…hmmm…she has a point there.

But we digress! We thought it would be fun to share some of our tips on how to thoroughly enjoy lockdown just in case you live in a state or country that is not in any of the opening phases yet.

Here we go!!!

Grizzabella: Wake Mom up by hogging 98% of her pillow…this way she is so uncomfortable she finally wakes up to make our breakfast.

While Mom makes our breakfast and brews her cup of morning coffee, completely take over the pillow and get in some extra zzz’s.

Dasher: After I eat my morning veggies it’s my turn to jump on the couch and look cute so Mom gives me head rubs while drinking her morning coffee and Grizzabella takes a morning nap on her lap….you can see her tail…Grizzabella doesn’t like it when I do this!

Grizzabella & Dasher: Join Mom in her morning cardio workout from home by constantly getting in her way.

Try these tips: hop on her mat ( Dasher ) and lounge right in the middle of the mat so she has to dance around me (Grizzabella).

Then make sure you cooldown

Grizzabella: Keep it classy! When Mom sits down to start her quarantine activities such as an online art class…sit in front of the computer and groom yourself.

Then take another nap.

Of course nap in front of her work so she knows where her priorities need to be.

Dasher: I like hanging out in my tunnel and watching Mom and Dad do their daily activities. It’s comforting to me knowing they are here. 

I’m also hiding from Grizzabella when she’s in a playful mood. Grizzabella in a playful mood=Pounce Dasher!

Grizzabella: Mom likes to give me hugs once in a while throughout the day! I have to pretend it’s annoying but I secretly looove it!

Grizzabella: On rainy days take more naps!

Grizzabella & Dasher: In the evenings hang out together on the porch and watch the birds and the sunset!
